Hua Li Xuan @ Iluma

After walking aimlessly around Iluma for at least 20 mins, my colleagues and I finally decided to settle our dinner at Hua Li Xuan (which is rated 7.4 online). Apparently, they have a branch in katong area selling Chinese food. This Iluma branch is more fusion style.

Verdict: some items are not too bad eg coleslaw, seasonal vege and pork cutlet - a small cosy restaurant for an affordable meal. Definitely not for big expectations.

Lazing a Sunday afternoon away..

Met up with 3 ol' friends for high tea at Ritz Carlton. Non of us knew the exact location of the main entrance so we actually took 1 big round to get to the Chihuly Lounge. The place wasn't packed so we managed to find a seat fairly quickly.

A longish table with comfortable cushion seats.

We all ordered tea in a pot - from earl grey to raspberry to green tea.

All stored in this beautiful and exquisite tea cabinet.

The band playing soothing music that enhanced the whole high tea experience.

Even with an online rating of 8.4, the variety of dishes was disappointing. It wasn't as delicious as the website described. Judging from the photos below, what you see is what you get.

Though the food wasn't up to my expectation, the company and music compensated for part of the disappointment.

Only when you really slow down and look around, then you will realized how far ahead others are while you are still standing at the same spot.

Girls Nite Out @ Bugis TCC

Met up with my darlings, Gret and Val, for dinner. We took advantage of the 1-for-1 main course offer since Gret is a member. Thanks girl! =) Come to think of it, this is the first time I actually had dinner at TCC. Most of the time I just ordered cakes, finger food and drinks. I must say, their food is pretty exquisite, nicely crafted and served like a piece of art.

Wild Garden Salad with Smoked Salmon

MUST-TRY #01: Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Porcini Sauce

The mashed pumpkin taste heavenly. Not too sweet and it simply melts in your mouth.

MUST-TRY #02: Banana Salmon Exotica

I probably tried something similar somewhere else, but this combi of pan fried salmon with BANANA sauce is so refreshing.

After the wonderful meal comes camwhoring time! After 2 failed attempts (with poor Gret being cut off in both tries), we finally got this "picture-perfect-self-taken" photo! Yeah! =D
