"Be Bowled Over"

Went for dinner at coffee club to try out their new special menu (I think they are introducing a seperate special menu of the month. Last month's was sandwich galore.) Anyway, this time round, the specialty was something similar to kenny roger's pot pie - a bowl-like pastry crust with meat or seafood, combined with vege and thick gravy.

We ordered a salad and a bread bowl each to try and share.

My all time coffee club fav - wasabi prawn salad!

"Farmhouse Rock" - Mix of chicken, vege and mushroom in garlic cream sauce.

"Honky Tonk Gumbo" - Fresh seafood with vege in salsa-alike sauce.

"Smokin' Hot Chickita" - Black pepper chicken with melted cheese on top.

Nice spread of delicious food n drinks!

The "remains" of the bread bowl. R.I.P.

New Makan Place - EBISBOSHI SHOTENGAI at Bugis Iluma

Been wanting to try out this new Jap restaurant since it's opening so I arranged a dinner gathering with a bunch of sec sch mates.

Concept: Ebisboshi house seven different Jap dinning brands under one roof in a food amusement park setting. From sushi, teppanyaki to ramen, shabu shabu and dessert, the amazing variety is sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Wireless Self-ordering System: Allowing diners to place their orders without human contact. By using a stylus pen (verbally repeats the item selected), diners are able to make their selections by tapping the "bar code" beside the food items (see above). After confirming the quantity and making a quick review of all the orders (see below), the data is transmitted to the kitchen and food will be served by the staff.

A few of the dishes tried out during our dinner...

Verdict - the service wasn't up to standard tho there seems to be quite a few servers around. Probably it's a weekend so they are rather short-handed. As for food wise, no doubt there are many varieties to choose from, the quality is not as fantastic as I was hoping it to be. But for a new dining experience, this place is still worth going.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRETTIE!!

a
A happy girl with her bouquet of Gerbera!

a
A lovely bouquet from Valerie and myself.
a
Met up with Gret and Val for dinner at Bugis Seafood Harvest Restaurant in celebration of Gret's birthday. How was the restaurant you may ask. One word - disappointing. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, it's probably one of the worst dining experience I ever had. But at least the company was good.
a
Not knowing what to eat, we all ordered the set dinner. It comes with soup, main course, coffee and dessert. We also ordered a smoked salmon caesar salad to share.

a

Don't go to this restaurant, unless you've too much money to spare.
a
After some shopping, we headed down to TCC for some drinks. As usual, TCC premium for Gret and myself, and a pot of hot tea for Val. Then it's camwhoring time! =D

A very very random post
a
Went out for dinner with some colleagues on Friday. Had a healthy "omega-3 bomb" (tuna loin) sandwich with double dose (i swopped the wedges) of mesclun salad (salad mix of assorted small, young salad leaves). The sandwich looks healthy, tastes healthy and it's pretty nice actually.
a
My colleagues shared a mudpie after that. Look, isn't it a creation of beauty? Aww~
a

Me? I just settled with a cup of regular coffee, no milk no sugar.

Dinner at Singapore Flyer

Met up with Val, Gret and Ben on Sunday for dinner at Jalapeno's Pepper Steak & Seafood Cafe at level 2 of the Singapore Flyer. This is my 2nd time to the SF, and boy was it a LONG walk from City Hall! I was sweating profusely, like nobody's business! By the time I reached there, I already lost half the appetite. :(

a
Anyway, Jalapeno is a fusion restaurant with a little mixture of mexican, american and italian. The interior design is bold, loud and full of vibrant colors.

a
Before I get to the food, a big CONGRATS to BEN who is finally gonna settle down! *wolf whistle* He told us about the BIG PROPOSAL PLAN, which didn't quite turned out the way he wants it, but it's the sweet thought that counts. Aww~ And of cos, thank you for the "thoughtful" presents from Taiwan. Candies and chocolates in sanitary pad and condom packaging. Nice.

a
Now back to the food. Clockwise from top left: Crayfish Parmigiana, Grilled Caribbean Salad, BBQ Beef Back Ribs and Mozzarella Cheese Stix.
a
Verdict: Not too bad. We only spent about $10 each as there is a 1-for-1 main course promotion. Worth going back again to try out other dishes, ONLY IF there is transport provided.
a
a
And finally, a group photo. From left: Ben, Gret, Me and Val.
