From Graduand to Graduate

The moment I've been waiting for is finally here! Today marks the special occasion where I put on my graduation robe and receive my degree! *beams*

Silly, happy Me! (P/S: Actually, I think I look quite 'gong' in the attire, but who cares! Heh.)

A happy family photo before the ceremony. (I'm glad I made my parents proud!)

Waiting to get up the stage to receive my cert. Can you spot me in the crowd?

FINALLY! My cert! Yippee!!

Me, a Graduate. =)

Will be taking my family portrait in the studio next week. Will post up the photos by then.

Happy birthday, Da!

This year's birthday sure was filled with lots of surprises, fun and laughter. 3 birthday girls celebrating together, so we need a Planning & Organizing (P&O) team.

Behold.. The P&O team (with the 3 birthday girls) !

(Note: the theme for the party at my place was "Cartoon". So we actually made a special tee for the event. Only the 9 of us have this tee. Nobody else. Special ba?)

a
These sweet girls paired up to make a "one and only" photo frame for each of the birthday girls.

(from left) Kiki's, Sharon's, Moi's

Kiki's from Evelyn and Janice.

a
Sharon's from Sally and Endrea.

Moi's from Laura and Clara. (Note: if u see closely, the stitch is actually biting a bone, which is my nick. FYI, they actually slit open stitch's mouth to put it in. Creative and sweet hor?)

Thanks, girls! I love it alot!

23rd August.. BBQ at my place..

As usual, party with lots of good food.

Super kawaii birthday cake!

25th August.. At siglap starbucks..

Actually, I wasn't expecting any celebrations on my actual day as it falls on a Monday, and I was still nursing a flu and a cough. So I took leave and rested at home. Frankly, it felt pretty sad and pathetic. But luckily, my good friends for 14 years - Alan and Jo - asked me out for coffee. And they actually bought a cake! Not forgetting a star shaped necklace from Jo. Thanks, guys! =)

Silly me with my flowers. Heh. =)
a
Many thanks to those who sms-ed me their wishes, and those who left messages on facebook and on my blog. And also thank you Alex who tried to call me from US to give me his wishes. (Sorry I didn't pick up.. Don't be angry, ok?)

Fish spa at Kenko

(Note: The photos below might cause discomfort to some.. please bear with me.. thank you!)

Today was my team's outing. After bowling and dinner at Marina Square, my colleagues and I went to Kenko for Fish Spa. It wasn't a planned trip. We wanted to go for coffee, but as we were walking past Kenko, an ang mo couple doing the treatment caught our attention. Out of curiosity, we decided to give it a go.

We opted of the 30 mins package at $28. Nobody dare to put their feet into the pond, so I've to go first.

"Alrite, here goes..."

(5 seconds later..) "Eeek! So ticklish!"

Slowly getting used to the fishes 'feeding' on my dead skin. Still ticklish, but bearable.

There are 3 different ponds - mini fishes, small fishes and big fishes. Those in the previous photo are big ones and are from Turkey. The smaller ones, which I didn't take any photos of, are from India.

Guess for 1st timers, go for the big fishes. The smaller ones tend to really stuck to your feet like leeches and can be quite scary. But it's a special and good experience. Go try it yourself! =)

Finally, a medal at last..

The long wait is finally over. The women table tennis team has done us proud by their victory against South Korea during the team competition semifinals this afternoon. They will play China in the gold medal finals.

Cheer the team up in the live telecast of the finals on 17th Aug Sunday at 7.30pm.

Not forgetting Tao Li, the first ever Singapore swimmer to qualify for the 100m butterfly finals in the Olympics. Though she finished 5th in the finals, she still did us proud.

All the best, Singapore team!

Women and babies

My manager brought her 2nd baby daughter back to the office for a visit this afternoon. And guess what? All the ladies in the office gathered around and go "Aaahh, so cute!" Basically all women go ga-ga over the baby.

What's with women and babies? Maternal instincts probably. Babies attract women just like honey attract bees. Same theory. Maybe they won't find them cute when they cry non-stop or cry in the middle of the night. Haha. Sadist, I know. Just not a big fan of babies. =)

East meets West... Not always good..

Despite being a big production with huge casts, Mummy 3 wasn't as fantastic as I hope it would be. After the Egyptian and Middle East culture, the crew decided to inject some Chinese flavor into the new sequel. But I guess it didn't work out right. Big names like Brendan Fraser, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh couldn't help to make this a 'must-watch'.

How should I put it? Boring storyline, old tricks and plot, predictable ending. No offence, no matter how much I like Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh, I just feel that they shouldn't have appeared in the movie. Wasted talents.

And once again, they let Michelle Yeoh's and Isabella Leong's (as 'Lin') characters speak both Mandarin and English! Probably if they don't speak English, the O'Connell family wouldn't be able to understand them.

Anyway, this movie gets only 2 stars from me. For those who haven't watch M1 and M2, go catch it. Watch it online, rent a video. Whatever. Just watch it. It's WAY BETTER than M3.
