JPMorgan Run Part 2

Alrite, the photos are IN! Detailed story below..

23.04.08 Wednesday. Bright sunny day. All ready for the 5.6km run.

a
A group photo at the lift lobby while everyone's still fresh and pretty.

And off we go! Ladies in Blue sure catches a lot of attention at the mrt!

Nearing The Padang.
a

a
And the skies started greying...
a

But our spirit were not dampened. Another group photo while we are, you guess it, still fresh and pretty.

It's finally time. Participants walking towards the starting point. Pressure's on!

And the horn sounded exactly at 6pm, commercing the start of the run.
a
Actually, everyone's packing like sardines. So we didn't managed to start running immediately. It took about 2-3 mins of walking before the pack loosen up some space for running.
a

I didn't realised this till later, but there was actually a timer at the finishing line. Seeing seconds ticking away on the clock, many participants dashed across the finishing line.
a
a
And the race is over. Everyone made it back within an hour, with an average timing between 50 to 55 mins. Bravo! Well done, GMAC!
a

Finally, another group photo to commemorate this special day!
a
Next up: Shape Run 2008 in July. =)

JPMorgan Run 2008

Yap, I completed the 5.6km run in 54 mins.

I kept telling myself I didn't push myself hard enough, but my legs and lungs just don't listen. When I was running, I really thought I was going to die. I've the strongest urge to just stop and sit by the pavement. But of cos, I didn't. And finally at the last 200m mark, I dashed to the finishing line. And I thought I was in heaven cos I suddenly feel so light. But no, I didn't faint.

I am too tired to write. Will continue when the photos come in.. Till then... Ciao.

Passion

In the first episode of "Find Me A Singaporean 2" (稀游记 2), host Belinda Lee travels 30 hours to Argentina's (阿根廷) capital - Buenos Aires (布宜诺斯艾利斯) to look for Singaporean, Isaac Ho who has fallen in love with the city's national dance - Tango. He gave up a stable career in Singapore to fulfill his dreams of learning tango from the world's best dancers.

Never been to the foreign country, can't speak a word of Spanish and unsure where to start learning. Armed with only his passion for Tango, Isaac ventured into Argentina. I admire his courage and determination. To give up everything you are familiar with and leaving your comfort zone isn't easy. For Isaac, Tango is his everything. Perhaps he is one who will even die in his dancing shoes for Tango.

As for Belinda, she went down to one of the Tango clubs on the last day of her trip. It was a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Looking at her remains me of my first time down to union square. I had so much passion for salsa back then. But where is that passion now? I know I still love salsa. I just need to find back that passion... somehow.

Some interesting Argentine Tango clips to share. Enjoy!

P/S: Check out those fast feet! And, NICE music! =)

Don't die with any regrets

Just got back from a wonderful movie - The Bucket List.

Two strangers, each at the crossroads in their lives, share a hospital room and discover they have two things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do and an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are. Together they embark on the road trip of a lifetime, becoming friends along the way and learning to live life to the fullest, with insight and humor.

Most of us tend to realise what we really want and who we truly are only when we are, well, about to 'kick the bucket'. Strangely and sadly, this is especially true for those who have worked hard to achieve what he thinks he wants but at the same time, missing out or overlooking what is really important in life.

There is so much I can say about this, but the bottom line is "Don't die with any regrets".

And, Splendid performance by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. =)

Rats (slang) - an exclamation of disappointment, disgust, or disbelief.

You thought you know. You thought you understand. But sometimes, you will be amazed by what you see or what you hear. Human beings are such strange creatures. Let's just hope that everything will turn out to be just fine. =)

Never judge a book by its cover - Phone salesman, Paul Potts, amazes crowd on 'Britains Got Talent'.

Watch the faces of the judges as this guy walks out on the stage. You can almost see what they are thinking as they pre-judge him based on his looks and the fact that he's a cell phone salesman. Pay attention to the audience as well. Maybe this guy stopped believing in what people told him for so many years and ultimately started listening to his passion. Absolutely fantastic!
